Ms. Scheininger is a psychotherapist who has been in private practice in the Washington, D.C. area for twenty years. She is a graduate of Northwestern University and received Masters Degrees from Boston University and the University of Maryland. She acquired expertise in the area of eating disorders and weight management while working at the Georgetown University Medical Center Eating Disorders Clinic. Her offices are located in Rockville, Maryland and the District of Columbia.
Ms. Scheininger maintains a general private practice for adults and adolescents and sees clients who present with a wide range of issues. She has a particular interest in relationship issues, eating disorders, life transitions and mood/anxiety disorders. Ms. Scheininger brings a warm, sensitive, and interactive style to the therapy process and utilizes psychodynamic, cognitive/behavioral and mindfulness-based approaches in her work. She is able to establish an easy rapport with many different clients and enjoys being able to help people create positive, productive changes in their lives.
Ms. Scheininger obtained a Certificate in Organization Development from Georgetown University and served as a consultant to several local companies and schools. She is a member of NASW, the Greater Washington Society for Clinical Social Work, the American Society for Clinical Hypnosis, and the National Eating Disorders Association. She is also affiliated with the Mid-Atlantic Group Psychotherapy Association. Ms. Scheininger has presented lectures on a range of topics at area schools, colleges, and community centers.
