Services Provided

The services we offer include individual, couples, family, and group psychotherapy as well as nutritional counseling and personal coaching. We work together with you to develop a treatment plan to meet your goals. If you want medical help or medication management, we have developed a network of experienced, caring physicians and psychiatrists to work with you. Referrals to residential and outpatient programs are also available upon request if you need a more intensive level of care.

Group therapy can be an excellent addition to individual therapy for some clients. It is helpful to have support and input from your peers as well as your therapist. Group members work hard to help one other, but they also enjoy their time together and develop trusting relationships. If you are interested in learning more about a particular group, please call the office, and we would be happy to provide more information or set up a time for an intake. The following groups are available at Potomac Valley Psychotherapy Associates.

VIRTUAL GROUP FOR YOUNG ADULT WOMEN: This Zoom group meets on Mondays from 12:00-1:00 pm and is led by Dr. Weiner. The day and time can change based on the needs of the group members. They can join these sessions on Zoom from any of the 42 PSYPACT states. We discuss a wide range of topics including self-esteem, social anxiety, depression, stress, and eating disorders. How to have healthier relationships, increase independence, and live happier lives are all part of the many issues we focus on in group. The young women form close connections with each other through opening up, developing trust, and supporting each other's growth. They work hard but laugh often during group and look forward to seeing each other every week.

IN-PERSON ADOLESCENT GIRLS GROUPS (grades 9-12): There are two groups for high school girls; Tuesdays from 4:00-5:00 pm and Wednesdays from 4:25-5:25 pm. Both groups are led by Dr. Weiner. The girls in the group are hard-working, determined, lively, and hopeful. With time, they become very connected and invested in helping each other grow. The girls discuss many issues including coping with depression, dealing with anxiety, reducing academic stress, and improving self-esteem. Some of the girls struggle with social anxiety, eating disorders, and learning challenges. Most of the girls want better relationships with their friends and family. Group is a safe place to open up and learn about how to become more confident, positive, and happy in their lives.

VIRTUAL WOMEN'S PROCESS GROUP FOR MOMS: This group is open to woman across the country (including 42 PSYPACT states), and it provides a time for them to share with each other the struggles and joys in finding a space for themselves while juggling parenting, jobs, friends, and more.
